To do that I guess I need a boost gauge?

Good practice IMO to have one.

you can put one in the air vent with a airvent pod or even one in the glove box that you can keep hidden and use for saftey reference sake!

... where is the VAGCOM plug in the car?

The black and white sockets in fusebox LHS ... needs a RossTech adapter.  I can lend you mine if you like.

Looking good Nik, you have been busy. Loving those cardonfibre inserts. :)

Thanks Terry. Its looking not too bad, Im super fussy though, stone chips, scratches, the odd supermarket dent. All easy to fix, just time and money, Ill just pick away at it :) Overall though its a very tidy for its age and kms. Im very happy :)
Cant wait to take it for a blat.

Use someone like Dent Majician to take the small dents out. Someone like final touch to airbrush your stone chips away. Much cheaper/effective than a panel / spray shop.

No heated seats?  Miserable buggers at European again!  Is the front foglight switch just hard to see in that pic?

The "flutter" is there on my Nothelle, but not on the urq

Door handle trims: 1 hidden posidrive screw accessible when the handle is pullled to the open position, and then the whole escutcheon slides sideways to unlatch from the door card.  Switch then just pushes back in from behind and should latch.

wastegate screw definitely non-standard

235/40/17 here, but afaik the RS2 used smaller tyres than the S2, due to the offset of the Porsche wheels

from s2forum:

correct tyres for RS2 17" alloys

This has been discussed and agreed at length on various forums. Just to confirm the OEM tyre was made slimmer than usual 245 and was the only OEM recommended tyre at release.
Other makes and newer 245 are too wide with sidewall failure which varies from slow cracking to sudden blow out (usually low pressures high speed with suspension fouling)
My RS2 came with 245s and the switch to 225 made it handle so much better.
On a final note some have wished to remain 245 as it is wider. Not true if you put a newer 225 next to an OEM 245. I checked as I had an unused spare. Guess you will too.

No heated seats, Dads one didnt either, Dads did have grey alcantara though.
Yip, the front fog light switch is there.
One thing mine doesnt have which Dads has is remote unlocking. Dads old car had a little black plastic lumps on the B pillars, does anyone elses have these?

I think that stereo is the NZ spec one.
Yep, you can have the button when I take it out. Unluckily for me, the security card for the head unit didn't come with the car  :'(

Only the very final build models will have had it

It's very easy to interface an aftermarket C/L kit with the factory alarm/immobiliser.  I have done it on all my cars, and you then get wireless which has much better range than the original infrared

I'll flick you a copy of the "how to" and the schematics by email

A new card is $50 from the agent in Chch, and they will code it to the serial number of the head-unit. They might have spare buttons, also. IMO that particular range of Blaupunkts were among the best that they made, unlike the crap they sell now.  Worth keeping perhaps, as it looks "right" for the car, and you can still add an accesory line-in cable to allow you to play MP3s etc through the "aux" input

(If you want a job done, Chch is always the place with the real experts ;) )

Out of curiosity, what was the noise level reading on the standard exhaust?
