Was speaking with one of the sales people at GT Continental this morning when I dropped my car off for service. Got talking about the new Scirocco. Was told that it will definitely be cheaper than the Golf GTI, but that only the lower powered (118kw ?) version will be bought in to NZ.

While in the Welly VW dealers yesterday, I saw a brochure for the Scirocco, so grabbed it. No sign of the actual car though.

The price mentioned above may mean that either the NZ model will be higher specced, or that the MkIV GTI will be a bit more expensive than the MkV
