As long as they put some great brakes, wheels, seats, lower it a bit with sport suspension, and perhaps a LSD it will be great and will fly.....

Looks nice, modern cars are different and can never be as nimble and light as an older car. They are much smoother and quieter and plusher and safer tho and the mk 5 GTi is a fast car as well.
The mk3 gti has a great engine ;D
The end is nigh, but the end of what is the question?

I agree with BB, people these days expect different things from cars than they did say 20 years ago. The mk5 and mk6 GTI is still a awesome drive when compared to other similar cars on the market.

nah new mk6 is ugly, and lost the GTI idea and feel.

mk1 or mk2 for what it's worth. otherwise an MK4.

Its the mk5 that is pegged as a real gti again. The mk4 is a pig the same as the mk3, who knows whether the mk6 is yet.
