Both those things were a result of my poor engineering at the time guys, still using Mk1 drive shafts >:D

And intercooler was just a leak Rob, just a leak

One would hope the importers have finally worked out there really is not room for another 3 door, and would be pointless bringing in the GTI-R in that guise. Price will be too close to S3 to warrant it. Also the learnt this after bringing in a second round of edition 30's (3 door again) and then they couldnt move them. Another pointer is them bringing the S3 in as a 5 door also! Please dont let us down, as cool as the 3 doors are , (we have one) we need doors for the kids on their way.

Had more news today on the R20 Golf. I am assured that it will be in 5 door, and 4wd and dsg or manual. Only 3 door ill be the Sirocco, and the sirocco will be out before the R20 in a 4wd high powered option. Think around 266 bhp std. Only downer is that uiggested pricing for the R20 is $72990. EEK

The market might surprise yet - there are a bunch of 130 Beemers on the road and they were mid 70s.  Leave it up to the Parnell Mums.

That's true, but the Beemer market is one of badge snobbery amongst the Tennis set...

I know it seems rather high *cough cough*, i would have thought mid 60's retail. Still haldex , forged motor, bigget turbo etc etc, basically an S3 with a nicer look and better interior, but just not the badge. There is always 'must haves' who will buy, only problem is that everyones Mk5's to trade will be worth sod all. Dealers have got next to none right now cause everyone is waiting for the Mk6 before trading. If you want to get decent money for your golf, sell it now!

My MkV GTI is a lease car, so not my problem if values drop. Does mean that some people with less disposable income may be able to get in to MkV's a lot sooner than they expected.

I would say so...look for the upcoming auctions as dealers liquidate trade-ins

we lease our ed 30 also , but we own it on paper, so its always got a buy out figure. thankfully its less than what we have been offered for trading and will always be thanks to decent deposit and buying right to start with.
Still 70k for a little dubber??? Hard to swallow.
Even te 2.0 std sirocco is mid 50's!
