wow really?

i was leaning toward the 2001, for all the bells and whistles (has bose package as well) , plus it's stock - i don't know what extra wear the chip may have caused.

Id also go for the lower km, older car.
Find out what chip it has, if its a brand you arent happy with remove it.

Like Dubious said, add something like 40,000 Kms in 2 years and think which each one would be worth.

no i haven't. i've driven a stage 3 A4 1.8t which has slightly more hp and it had suspension upgrade, but found that i a little too on edge.

i'm guessing the extra litre in the S4 will smooth that out.

Im thinking the Extra four cylinders in the S4 will smooth it out..

not the fact it has a extra litre

Hold on is it V8 S4 or V6???

either way better than stupid 4 cylinder Turbo

yeah something like that.


but i love my 4 cylinder turbo.

if i get the S4 it'll be a sad departure.

I drive a A4TQM MTM Stage 1 QuattroGmbh Suspension (Lemans) and the RS4 Quattro GmbH Suspension regularly. The A4 is a better balanced car, where as the RS4 has more power and is a better cruiser (same goes for the S4). Tight twisties, I would prefer the A4 as its more fun, but you soon get accustomed to V6 Twin Turbos and love that slightly more.

Then i drive a normal car, and wonder how you survive with under 300hp.

Hahhaa absolutely! The cheapest way to make your car faster is drive a slower car for a few days. Works a treat (at least in the short term  ;)

Unfortunatly my idea of fast it something that can pull to 100 in under 3 seconds and keep on pulling with nearly as much if not the same amount of power after that..

Latest Evo 9, off the shelf, 4.3s 0>100 (off memory). Damm, they are getting fast. Little bit of tuning, and it will be sub 4s.

Apparently After that talking to Robbie Fransevic.. Thats their screaming territory.. afterthat its downhill.. never said they wernt fast but unlike something like a mean euro its one massive hit and has a greater trickle off then say a Rs4 or CSL

Best/easiest/cheapest way to do that is to buy a big sports bike - Suzuki GSX-R1000 or Honda CBR1000RR.  Just over $20k will get you a brand new one.  Good luck buying/building a car that fast for any money...

I raced a Evo7 on the quarter mile 1.5 years ago. I pulled a 13.08. I killed him on the start, and took two car lengths on him, but he then ran me down and probably had another 20km trap speed on me at the end. He pulled a 12.7 from memory. But... he was tuned, and i was not.

If it was a full 1 mile course, i would have then run him down. Alas though, NZ doesnt have autobarns to allow this type driving.

had several runs. Fastest was 13.08, with ESP and aircond off, 5k clutch dump. Without doing a redline dump, it wouldnt go any faster.
Remember, the EVO was worked, my RS4 wasnt.

Stock RS4's are fast, but not overly fast (up to 1/4 mile). But.... like the EVO, the RS4 can be tuned to be much quicker. Problem is, the RS4 is expensive to tune (not to mention buy) compared to the EVO.
