What did you do to your VAG today?
« on: September 20, 2009, 03:41:44 pm »
I thought I'll start a new thread as I've seen this subject on the corrado forums and its been going for like 5 years.

What did you do to your VAG today?

20-09-09 -  Took my seats out today and replaced the plastic runners that clip onto the metal guides. Now my seats don't rock from side to side..

http://www.veedubmachine.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=53

Installed my new leather gaiter for my handbrake and gearstick so looks much fresher than before. Finally a guy came around to check out my old reflex wheels and now they are provisionally sold. Next step to put on my estorils, perhaps next week. :)

Cheers

Good idea - I was just looking at a similar thread on VWVortex that was at hundreds of pages!

Yesterday I fitted my oil catch can and today I found some steel wool and cleaned up the exhaust tip :)

I discovered the Wagon has destroyed an inner diveshaft rubber boot so thats on the to do list.
I also got the VR6 up in the air, flushed the coolant ready to replace the oil cooler which is causing trouble. Fixed one of the electric window regulators with the secret fix.
Mk2 cleaned the interior

Washed.

Fitted new Blueant Supertooth 3 bluetooth HF kit. Looked at Parrots online but way more expensive and need big fitting job - i'd need to pay for it as I'm not that clever, so prob adds at least another $100 making total around $500. Supertooth 3 now $199 - no brainer :)

Polished the Bora's exhaust tips up to a mirror finish, then pulled the driver's seat out and removed the wire for the EXTREMELY annoying seatbelt warning chime (VAG-COM cannot disable this)

Found a mint stubby antenna under the seat also so was pretty pleased with that! I am more pleased about the lack of dong dong dong dong every time I start the engine though!

cleaned it, was getting rediculously filthy but now it looks really sharp.

(on a side not i started scrubbing the grease out of the engine bay in the escort, lots of hours to go but it is looking sooooo nice in there now! even managed to find the original rocker cover sticker hiding underneath the gunge)

Stripped out the interior and removed some awesome aluminium kick plates that were rivited on and red carpet glued over the original ::) Tomorrow I will wash out the inside out and reassemble, then its onto replacing the gearbox
