put in a new clockspring and had the usual two hour struggle trying to get the airbag to engage back into the steering wheel,

brainwave in the middle of the night, a smidge of grease on the retaining springs and it went in straight away

finally wired up the fog lights after years of procrastination, Jap import came with nasty chrome circles instead of lights, no provision in the loom for fogs so I had to run a wire through from the lightswitch (there's an easy way when you have the dash out, through the back of the wipers from memory), the rest was a breeze

Congratulations on new house.
Yes, you could park them all in the garage Tavarish style with a hoist.
Is that a rear garage door too so you park more out the back?

Not built by us, house is less that 2 years old though.
The original owner was into horses and parked their horse float in it and guess the wash bay was there to wash out the float.

Yesterday. Replaced HPFP cam follower and o-ring.....when I eventually found it! It got tangled with my earbuds and ended up down the side of the seat.

I sense that the cam follower had been done before, as I'd noted one of the vacuum hoses had split at a join (right at the red arrow below) and had been most wrapped with silicon tape but there was still a mild leak. Cleaned the area up and applied yet more tape, this time working from the elbow down covering the previous tape too. Not sure if those pipes/hoses are available individually. They weren't for the Passat.

EDIT: Not sure if I'm imagining things but definitely running more smoothly and brakes suddenly feel sharper.
