Once the last bits on the Vento are done I will be away on this one, I had intended on buying a peasant spec Bora to convert but a 4 Motion Highline just happened to land in my lap and was way to cheap to pass up.
Just made sense to use that car as a project as its already got the heated lecky seats, sunroof, climate air AWD etc.
It will be done as a full on road car, not fussed about weight as the big engine will take care of that.

As some of you know I did start on a MK2 R32 but in the end I just found it was too old to drive every day especially since being used to my current MK4 Jetta, had I gone through with it then it would have been a huge step backwards.

Finaly I'll get to use the R32 donor Golf that has been sitting around for the best part of a year, the idea is to go forged internals (rods/pistons) to lower the compression ratio to 8.5:1 so that we can turbo it!  ;D
Garret GT3582R was a consideration but after doing a bit of reading I now think this will be too small for my goal  :o.
I will post some pics of the car in the weekend, in the meantime I'll be looking at selling the current Jetta  :'(

Yes it is Nik, the Golf front has been sold and is coming off next week, new genuine Bora guards have been ordered along with brand new rear 1/4 panels.
There are a few Coupes out there but only a hand full, 1552 designs in the States did one but I don't like the rear side window in theirs, VW also did a concept coupe (CJ concept) and thats what I'm basing mine on.

If this was my car, i would have just done the R32 conversion with big Turbo, but as usual John wants to do other stuff.

All cool, and good luck.
Skill is, sucessfully tightrope walking across the Niagra Falls.
Intelligence is, having the sense not to do it.

So is the new highline a 4 door that you will make two door or is it 2 door already?
Is the highline a V6?
So you will use the current highline running gear but just put the R32 donk in with a turbo on it?

Can you sell the mk2 body to Hans cheap he needs one.
The end is nigh, but the end of what is the question?

rambo_005

Yes Jem the Highline is a 4 door V6 just like mine. :)
