John!!! First off, WOW, this is the most incredible Jetta I have ever seen. I have always wished VW would make one of these. A 2-Door AWD R32 Jetta... An you went and Turbo'd it... Im from South Africa, we never got the big displacement V6 models here. The biggest we got was a 2.3L V5. We did get the Golf in a R32, not sure if it came in a 3 door and/or AWD here. So well done, your work is amazing.

The only thing i can't agree with is the LM wheels. I love BBS wheels but those OZ Supers are a perfect fit for the car. I could not have put it better than gti vr6 if i tried:

OZ Wheels look the business.
This car is about the GO not the SHOW.

The attention to detail is astonishing. The pivot badge boot catch is very much a "nice-to-have" but you put the same effort and passion in to it as every other inch of the car. This used to be my favourite of all Jetta front bumpers, not any more... And I'm so glad you didn't ruin that beautiful front by removing the badge. Its been said so many times, the best part about this car is that it all looks OEM.

I do have some questions though, things i don't remember reading... Are those headlights some aftermarket set or is a regional thing? They look different to the ones on my 2005 MK4 Jetta TDI. I say regional because US spec cars have amber lense side indicators where we have clear lenses. Also did you change the gear ratios at all? Is it a 5 or 6 speed? Sorry if you have already answered all this(things i don't remember reading).

Did you ever say how much tyre trashing, earth moving, time warping torque was measured on the dyno? I saw 245KW, but never a torque figure... Also what was the most you boosted to and what sort of figures did you manage to safely get? Did you ever make it to the 300KW mark?

Well done again. Just finished admiring you work on the Jetta, now off to read all about the Ghia.

The headlights are just stock OEM xenons as fitted to the v6 4 motion models, I actually haven't been back on the dyno since that initial test session which was 245kw at 12psi which is mostly what I run on the street.
We left the tuning at 18psi but need to dyno again at 21-22 psi which the tuner thinks will be the limit of this map but to be honest 18psi on the street gets you in to enough trouble very easily.
The gearbox is the 6 speed Bora box as its reportedly stronger than the R32 one.

I agree about the LM's hence I have them for sale right now so the Superleggeras are going back on, just love them! ;D

Some changes are in the works for the old girl, the 02M is coming out and DSG going in.
After doing a track day in a MK5 R32 I'm sold on DSG and combined with a turbo it should be pretty sweet.

I had planned DSG anyway for the R36 motor but rather than wait till that swap happens I'll do the DSG conversion first and iron out any problems it has.
Just researching can bus connectivity issues now before I tear the thing apart so if anyone has info feel free to share, I'll want to do the swap including paddles on the wheel.

You will require the MK5/6 (CH) steering wheel control module, Slip ring, As far as I know, the canbus on all MK4's were via the cluster. In the MK5 it of course has the external Canbus.
Therefore if you go to this change over, you will also need the CECM (Comfort Electronic Control Module). These, I do not know how they are going to handle the MK4 platform parts. Mainly as I have not played enough with them. Well the interchangeability that is.

To Be honest if you get a Audi TT (Gen 1 Facelift) DSG controller etc then it will be a much of a plug and play affair.
As you know however, the MK5/6 engine require the Fuel pump and controllers, which will only work on the CECM unit not the CCM units.

I guess your almost at the point of work involved you could save some time and go straight to the R36 conversion and run NA? Till all issue's are resolved then perhaps build the motor and have the R36TT?

Not sure how that fit's with how you wanted to progress with this build however.

Lets not forget that Mk4 R32's were avaliable with DSG.

Pretty rare though and gen 1 TT will use the same parts, I'd guess the Audi being a more expensive car new would have seen the technology first.
As far as the R36 goes i'll be getting rid of the FSI and running 630cc injectors in the manifold like I have now so I think using gen 1 TT parts would be the way to go to keep things as simple as possible.

They did indeed, However, where are you going to find them other than the USA or perhaps Europe?
Not that many made. Hence I recommended the Gen 1 TT instead

Well if you are going to end up with a GEN 1 TT intake/head. Or are you going to block of the TFSI injectors in the R36 head?
The fact you can effectively have your cake and eat it too. Well so to speak, using the MK1 TT platform. As I'm sure you can land them for next to nothing in the grand scheme of things?

Just thinking....as this has an upgrade coming, this engine would go great in the supercharged jetta, which I see is for sale again.
