Lupo GTI

Since we never got the Lupo GTI in NZ, is it still possible to import them privately?

I dont see why not.
There are Lupos in NZ so I dont see why you couldnt import a GTI.
I see a few GTIs from time to time in some of the Jap action sites.

For a wee taste, take a POLO Gti out for a spin (at least 6 S/H in Ak at mo)
5dr but still a neat hot hatch - with LUPO Gti bits.

The Polo doesnt have the 6 speed box does it?

Pity, here in Germany are stacks of Lupo?s.
Pity its lefthand drive, I could have
helped out somehow if you wanted
to import one. They sure are a real
hot car to have! even if you get the
right 1.4 you sure to have a nice
pocket rocket. the way I understood it.
There are 3 different 1.4?s. an 8v one??
(not sure, but it doesn?t have much power)
a 75hp 16v one and a 101hp 1.4 16v one..
I have looked at some model guides and I still
havn?t found out why one is 101hp and one
75hp.

oh...oh..this is hott - ish..
just saw in a book that there is actually a 1.4 FSi Lupo. puts out 105hp but uses
4.6 litres of fuel/100km. vs the Gti with 125hp and about 7L/100km...not as
quick but prob the best performance vs. economy lupo. Odd, I never saw
an fsi lupo before or heard of one..

excuse me..the fsi lupo only comes with this funny sequencial gear
box, presumably the same one from the 1.2 tdi 3L.

Just kinda heard, but might have missed the pot big time,
the 125 hp 1.6 Lupo motor is variable valve timed...
