On my Xmas list:
Engine: 4.2L FSI V8 Supercharged
Transmission type: Rear wheel drive/Differential lock
Power output: 560 HP (412 kW) at 7.750 RPM
Torque: 580 Nm at 5.500 RPM
0-100 km/h: 3.9s
Top speed: 317 km/h

I'd rather the Heffner V8 twin turbo, it does 536 rwhp @ 6 psi. 100 octane program should be 600hp or so  >:D

S/C v8 makes much more sense that the v10. less weight, more torque.

Man, that looks insane.

Speaking of R8s Chris Harris compares a R8V10 with a GTR with a 911T in a couple of videos in this link. Interesting analysis of each and the R8 gets surprisingly caned in the drag race on a wet track.

I'd say that was more down to the gearboxes in the other cars than a lack of traction or power from the Audi. A full on launch in a dsg equiped high powered car is a seriously impressive event.
