Back on topic. Agreed the single cab improves the looks. Will be interesting to see how much that and the new 8 speed auto improves sales volume in NZ.

8 speed auto sounds a bit OTT  :o

5 or 6 gears would be ample. Does it have a road ranger in it or something??
I'm hoping they get it right because I would like to update the Hilux next year and like the idea of a
Vag truck in the fleet.

Amarok Super Single Cab now available: http://www.volkswagen.co.nz/media/country/nz/x/spec_sheets_2012.Par.0002.File.pdf/amarok_super_single.pdf

Available in NZ as 6 speed manual only, two engine/driveline choices:
4Motion 120kW/400Nm Twin Turbo TDI from $49,990
2WD 90kW/340Nm TDI from $41,990

It would be safe to assume that both prices above are for cab/chassis, as it states the wellside package is a $2k option.

The 8 speed auto is only for the double cab 4WD Highline at this stage: http://www.volkswagen.co.nz/media/country/nz/x/spec_sheets_2012.Par.0001.File.pdf/amarok_double_cab.pdf
