Nice find Nick! :) - bet that would be quick! At least in a straight line the weight of that engine might throw the dynamics out a bit.

wonder what he did with the inline 5? if that is a short sport, it would of have had the alloy block, pls correct me if im wrong!

I cant imagine the weight difference being to vast...

even so the slightest amount of balast put in the right place (if that much of a disturbance was caused in the first place

I like V8s better any way.. its just something about them feels so right

Apparently its not a real Urq but so close I thought id call it one :)

It's a swb conversion, donor car unknown although it probably started life (in Germany I think) as a common old garden type urq. This pic and a whole bunch of others came up on Audifans after the 25th anniversary get together at Ingolstadt.
It sure as heck looks like a good job, and would go like a a cut cat.

The 4.2 is probably lighter than the in line 5 ?

The V8 is shorter than the I5 so the weight distribution would be further to the rear, so less in front of the axle and therefore less understeer.

Some SWB conversions are made from CQs as they are cheaper than chopping up an Ur-q and the floorpan is the same, and the panels get replaced anyway.

Nice project...but, those wheels definitely do not go with the car at all.

5-spoke Compomotive MOs - look just like '80s rally wheels used on Sport quattro. Not too big though.

Or the best of all - 9 x 15 Ronal R8 (16-spoke); the factory Spoirt wheel.

GlenT

Not sure. The Allroad does have a similar type but the spokes are not as big, and they have more of those wee fake cap head bolts.
What it needs is some S1 wheels or replicas (white five spoke) That would finish it off rather well don't you think?

graeme

i bought some MOs in for my car and couldnt believe the weight of them though the RWD off set is super load

When you say you cant believe the weight, you mean that they are heavy?
What car do you have them on Graeme?
