Hey guys, the Lupo is making a weird noise when I turn the steering wheel tightly. It's like a straining sound, a deep humming. The power steering fluid was almost out and I re-filled it and it has got a tad better. Any ideas fellas?

80 Vert

Noisy pump, they get like that when they are run low on fluid.
Just live with it or replace it.

GTI's

It may have an air block. try turning from lock to lock while running.
Get the new fluids right through the system.

Cheers, I tried that. I think that Vert hit the nail on the head.

Shouldn't really have leaked any fliud at your milage tho :P Try and see where its leaking and cure that.
Put some PS leak stop and conditioner in it.
The end is nigh, but the end of what is the question?

It's come right. Can't find where it is leaking from, but there is no noise at least.
