Hey guys, I have a set of v-maxx coil overs which were very kindly fitted for me. Does anyone have any ideas why the back/rear would still be sitting high even though they have been wound all the way down. Has it got something to do with the rubber washer at the top? Also I can get 2 fingers between the guard and wheel on one side and 3 three on the other. They were professionally installed, but perhaps they need to have a wee mod done to them?

Thanks for any help  :-*

Regards,

~Luke

Never worked on one

Other thing is they could be at their TUV limits. Funnily enough its the first comment about them being bouncy from nz customers.

lupi

Yeah, i'd love you to stop and have a look at them. Would today work, as I cannot really drive the car till it's sorted.

Like a Mk4 Golf then? So you cant adjust the rear suspension height of the Lupo?

Should be able to, good coil over sets have threaded tubes under the rear springs.

So who installed them?  The V max are only height adjustable not adj dampening right?

RS4

Remember the rears will only drop 60mm max, if you go past them the shocks will lose all the travel and will make it bouncy. Have you measured the actual drop? And was the drop from std springs or lowered springs?

I fitted them.
He seems to be sorted now.
The end is nigh, but the end of what is the question?

lupi

I had to remove the adjustable platform from the rear. Thing was as high as a kite. In hindsight I should have just cut the springs like choppy told me >:D

So were the coilovers you used in your Lupo made for a Lupo or another car?

Yeah they were Lupo specific. Just seems that they have used the wrong rated spring for the set up. Don't get me wrong, I am happy with my v-maxx set up in my MK2, but this seems like a pretty big fail in the Lupo coilover department.

Filx

Maybe take the rear spring into Stocks, tell them the weight of the car and the height you want and see if they have something that will suit in a shorter spring. Then you can re-install with the adjustable perch.
