Guys/ Gals

my 1986 Coupe 90 broke it's bonnet opening mechanism. I have obtained a 2nd hand one but am really stuck on how these things work ! It's really got me beat as it seems to defy logic. Does the inner pull the 2 bonnet locks at the same time ? i.e. clamp them ? ciao Derek

A barbaric design, made worse by the fact you can't see the components easily. Yes, the two thick wire loops below the holes where the locking studs go, which have things like hollow golf tees in them, should both move towards the centre when the lever inside the car is pulled. It is important to clamp the outer sleeve of the cable inside the car so that the 'locks' start to open when the lever starts to be pulled.
