Hi all, I am looking at replacing my extremely noisy Good Year F1's with either Falken ZE912 or Bridgestone Adrenaline RE001.

I am sick and tired of the noise of the F1's even though they are warrantable and the price on the RE001 is about 20% lower than the Falken.  Has anyone had any experience with the two tyres?

I have 225/40/18 RE001s on my Bora - they have been great so far, my only gripe would be the rate of wear.

Interesting I find the wear on my RE001 great.
Much better than my Pirelli PZero's.

Out of those choices I would recommend Adrenalin RE001
I have been trying to bring in a set or two of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta XL 94Y.

All of the guys in the UK and Europe Region cannot stop raving about them. Even better than F1 Asymmetric.
Performance, wear and way more quiet.

I had Vredestein's on my Mk1 GTI about 7 years ago. I wonder why they stopped importing them?

If they (RE001) are good on your Golf GTI, that should be pretty reasonable on the S3 - Thanks for the feedback!

The tyres on the RS2 more than likely wont pass the next WOF (just got a fresh one yesterday). Im looking to replace my current tyres with Hankook Ventus S1 evo. I just have to figure out where to get them from . . .

I honestly do have one gripe with the RE001's.

When you are driving on Chipseal road they are noisy otherwise they are great.

I would recommend to at least have a look at the Toyo C1's I think they are called.

But at $185 per tyre, I would imagine that I will struggle to do better?

quiet in Europe does not necessarily translate to quiet in NZ, our road surfaces are different, coarse stone ship often, which affects tyre noise levels

I have had RE001's on a MkIV Golf V6 4motion, a MkV Golf GTI and now on my MkIV R32.

I liked them on the 4Motion, hence had them fitted to the MkV GTI when the original tyres needed replacing. I liked them on the MkV, but they wore extremely quickly. I contacted Bridgestone NZ and was told that they are a soft compound performance tyre that will wear quickly on a front wheel drive car. Was told that in those circumstances the wheels would need to be rotated every 10,000 k's. Unfortunately I was not told that by the Firestone dealer when they were fitted. After 20,000 k's, I doubt if they would have passed a WOF. Most of my driving was in city traffic.

The R32 had RE001's on it when I bought it. Once again, on an all wheel drive car, they seem to be wearing well and I am happy with the all round performance.

I think they would probably be fine on an S3, but would be a bit weary of putting them on a front wheel drive car again.

i am currently looking to replace the factory michs on my a3 too, was going to get re001 but after being in my mates altezza with toyota ct01s i am strongly considering them as they are so much quieter. And lets be honest, how many hard corners are you going to push around city driving in auckland  >:D

I am pleased to report that the RE001's have fixed the sound in my car that sounded like all 4 wheel bearings were on the way out ... I doubt I will buy Good Year tyres for many years.  Thanks for the feedback.
