okeyyyyyy..... im ash the new owner of bertie and i thought it would be rude starting a new build thread for her so i am just going to creep on into this one :D

My plans for bertie are:
Get her some more low (via extended top hats/ shortening shocks/ different keeper springs/ really i dont have a clue yet haha)
a collection of old V.W. wheels
some bbs rs 14x6.5
re do the front guards and paint
re vinyl the interior & get the rest back to oem new
a cool little boot instillation (wood grain and an old suitcase)
deloom what minimal loom there is in engine bay
replace the mk2 radiator with a radiator with a cap on the top tank ( so i cam remove that huge over flow bottle)
relocate the washer fluid bottle and get a smaller one
pull engine out and give it a good clean/ paint
and paint the cam cover either crinkle black or get it airbrushed to look like wood grain
... oh and get osme factory polo bagged mud flaps haha!

This plan is one that will take a wee while but ideally i would love to have it ready for the stance of for it reveal but im not the fastest when it comes to my cars, so it could be stance of v3 haha, ill blame slowness on it being my daily hahahaha

so far on my list i have collected a set of "p-slots" from mike and was going to  give them a clean and throw them on but i decided that they weren't ideal so there sitting in the shed (for sale if anyone is keen haha), i have installed a headunit only to find that i have an issue with the alternator or the resistor, its putting out to much charge and killing the battery and the headunit. so will need to get this sorted in next week or so. i am a noob so i wouldn't have a clue is the resister built into the alternator or is it external?

Also i started pulling apart the loom only to find a set of 3 brown wires that split out into 6..... needless to say i got scared and covered it all back up haha! does anyone know/ have a breakdown of a loom that i can browse through?

other then the above two things build has been very slow, camera bits and ticking around the country have been taking up time and money, ALTHOUGH i have been degreasing the engine bay and the engine with a tooth brush/ lots of cloths. its starting to come up well and i gave the rear a wax and its looking amazing so as soon as the loom/ over flow and washer fluid go i can get into it and get it gleaming!

pictures of minimal work so far.....

just spy the nana blanket on the back seat  will do wood grain floor polish and touch up the paint and then got a little trick for the suitcase  8)

and i dont actually have and decent photos of the hole car at the moment but nothing has changed from the above ones.

Hey mate, Polo radiators are an unusual size, i ended up using an alloy race radiator for a honda civic (side tanks) and cut about 100mm off the height, seemed to work ok with a new electric fan as the old one was too wide to fit.

If your motor is a solid lifter head then i have a laser cut extractor manifold left over from my coupe project. http://www.vask.org.nz/index.php/topic,12251.0.html
