Story behind this??

Well I have a green golf the the Police would have a field day on, and my buddy is a cop... He got sent out looking for a green golf in Takapuna (where I live) so gave me a buzz to find out if it was me that he was looking for! Soon as he told me it was a VR6 I had a sigh of relief and thought I may just give a heads up here in case it was a vasker. Not sure why they were looking for him though.

Spotted a 3 door Mk4 around Albany last night, DJU40
Sunroof, euro spec bumpers and mirrors - a Singapore import probably?

Had no pillar trims, head liner or rear seats. Either it's leaking or he's doing a retrim!

That's what I was wondering, I couldn't remember what wheels Phil had?
And I couldn't work out why he would have it parked in the middle of nowhere at almost midnight lol, so I'm not sure

Has Wellington Continental on the number plate surround too

^ Get better fuel economy with no interior. Currently at 385kms and yet to hit halfway on the gauge. Shooting for 750+kms out this tank.

What was it doing there at midnight? No time to rest when you're taking business away from the big boys.  >:D

Around town driving? That's insane! My car is 'only' going to manage 500kms to the current tank. Too much testing of the new diverter valve I guess  :P.

No, that's about 80% open road driving. This tank has been fairly normal speeds etc, but with just reasonable attention to throttle application, smooth driving etc. If I can get close to my 750km goal this time I'll have a tilt at a full on economy drive mission on my next tank. It's just to get that extra 10% economy takes 50% more concentration and it starts being pretty hard work.

In my 1.8T I'm always above 800km on the 60Lts tank (think it's 60 or 62), to be honest is 90% open road, legal speeds (105-110 speedo).

Would be around 6.7 and 7 every 100km.

Filx

Good point, I should qualify that I've been working on the ~50L from full tank to low level warning light coming on.

Saw a Nissan GTR in Porirua the other night - driven by a 20-something guy. Watched him drive off in the hope of hearing nice noises but it was all a bit quiet.
And that black Maserati GT again in Tawa with the plate something like MAS GT

Oo, and a really nicely modded silver 3 series coupe. Dark wheels, lowered, carbon fibre boot lip, looked really nice. Plate was V0LUME

Most people that drive that kind of car (Nissan GTR, Aston Martin, Maserati) don't seem to enjoy the noise as much as people like us. Disappointing.  :(

Saw a black/charcoal A4 saloon with an MTM badge and fat exhaust leaving my offices (Mighty Ape) as I was on the way back from lunch.
