The old aircooled gave up on me - but I wont give up on it - so time for a rebuild.
But first you must take the once beating heart out;

Ha - yeah it was reckless end of day behaviour - but all was well with concrete curbs to bounce off.

These engines like to go kaput very quickly - I think I stuffed a valve seat or a piston ring became unsettled?  It was blowing hellish smoke from no.3//  I was sick of it and decided this would make me feel better.  Will build the big engine next year.

While the engine is out i've been updating bits and pieces.  Got these Bilsteins back a while - and will be good hard driving since they have been developed for the Norschlieife, like every car has to be now

This update I am most proud of.  upholsterer and I have been working, fitting, re-trimming, re-ordering and rebuilding until these are just right.  When I say we, I mean him and my wallet.

Stoked with the results - and can safely bet I would be the only one with this setup.

Its only when you see one like that now you fully realize how much cooler old cars like that are compared to a Nissan pulsar of today :P
 I mean to be honest they were a bit of a known lemon in their day, but now that thing just looks so damn cool.
 Top work Salty, its the dogs bollocks!
