The VW club requires that you get a RWC prior to club rego.  It is weekend toy, so club rego suits it far better and my wallet far better. $120 vs $650 per year

Been a while.  Last couple of weeks there have been some great VW gatherings - Just went on one to Geelong called ReVolks.. must have been 200 aircoolers there and loads of them were Splitties.
Have been developing megasquirt to run my ignition as of late and is ready to install after testing on laptop.  Have also gathered parts for fuel inj - using ZX636 throttle bodies.
Have a turbo and stainless turbo exhaust to bolt on once megasquirt ignition passes then inj runs smooth.. step by step.

In my spare time I have taught myself to fibreglass and built a replica 70s side scoop.  It is really there for decoration purposes as I haven't seen another 3 rocking one.

The car is now turbo'd.
Built a stainless exhaust and managed to keep it all under stock lid with GT15 garrett fitted behind LRWheel.
Injected with 270cc denso - pulls very well and very quick being 800kg.
All my cars are turbo these days - boost is hard to deny.

This is a older photo -oil is now scavenge pumped around engine back to oil filler.
