Cheap new Audi parts
« on: February 03, 2011, 07:41:15 PM »
Where can I get cheap new parts for the following Audi's in Auckland
I have a 1995 A6 quattro with 354,000 ks on the clock (still going well, except for heater hoses bursting)
My daughter has a 1997 A3 with 178,000 ks
I need pricing on a cam belt kit, front and rear rotors, brakes pads and water pumps for both vehicles.
I have no service history on the A3 and no indication of when cam belt was replaced, there is nothing anywhere on the engine or engine bay or belt cover. at what ks should these get replaced?
Any help much appreciated

I do use Qualitat from time to time, but some of the parts still seem quite dear, I know the car is an Audi, but thats still no excuse to charge so much for parts. Come on people, there must be some one on here that has managed to source cheaper new parts, and can supply them to other owners.

Simon MkII on this forum works for Giltraps parts department and is generally able to provide a discount on parts he sells VASKers. Hope I'm not out of line saying that. Most VW/Audi servicing companies including Qualitat get most of their parts through them anyway. There is another outfit that must import independently of EMD but can't think of their name. Someone else is bound to know though. Good thing about Giltraps/EMD is a 2 year parts warranty on items they sell.

Qualitat have their own source for genuine parts, they do also source some parts through us (Giltrap). Speed.co.nz seem to be getting in on the action now, not sure if their parts are genuine or where they are getting them from.
I can get prices if you can PM me the chassis numbers for each vehicle. Usually I do 15% off retail for VASK, some parts I can offer a bit more.

Thanks guys for all the info. The parts I need are listed in the first message. I dont really care if the parts are after market as the A6 has done over 354,000 ks and I dont want the parts to end up doubling the price of the car when bought and fitted.
I agree that some after market parts should be steered well clear of. Simon MK11 hows the new boy Simon coming along, he used to work for me before going to Giltraps. I will also get you the numbers required so you can price the parts for me.
Thanks
Alex

Nice.

Speed.co.nz seem to be getting in on the action now, not sure if their parts are genuine or where they are getting them from.

They bring in whatever you want. The have containers coming in from Europe and the UK weekly I believe.
