I've tried to think of everything that could be replaced while the head is off - and it was time for the TB also so have all the front end stuff scheduled to be replaced. Serp belt, tensioner, roller, water pump, front crank seal. I asked to have the crank pulley looked at too, but don't think that looked like it needed to be replaced. I'll double check.

The last time I checked the fan bearing it had no play in it at all. - but I'll mention it to the service manager to check to be sure.

I am not replacing all the water hoses. Just checking for any signs of deterioration. I am replacing so much other stuff that I have had to put a limit on what was going to be done.

Thanks for all the info and links.

Cheers.

I would just ask them to take a really good look at the crank pulley around the keyway, this was mine when we did my TB.

My mate didn't think that the crank bolt was done up as tight as the specs indicated it should have been, as it gave way well too easy when we loosened it. You can see scoring on the harmonic balancer, this was smooth to the touch and the scoring appears to be from the thread on the crank bolt. Possibly because the bolt was not done up to the correct torque. This bolt torque being inadequate is possibly the cause of the fractured keyway on the crank pulley. But that is just my guess.
