Hello all and merry xmas,

Been yarning to my bro (this is in oz) bout his newly bought 2000 A4 1.8qt avant,
this car was ozzy new - fully optioned. He seems to think there was a "GP"
version available from 1998 onwards that had 132kw (bit more than the
150bhp/110kw that im aware of), and from 1999 or 2000 they all were 132kw...

Is this so? I must admit it does seem like his car pulls a bit harder than mine (dammit)  ???

Anyway, if someone might be able to shine some light on this i would be interested.
Cheers, Warwick

Would the Oz "GP" models maybe be the same as a "Lemans" in NZ?
Its all new to me, as all B5 1.8qt standard engine spex ive come across state 150bhp.

hmmm..

The Passat B5.5 that is on TradeMe looks no different to any other internally or externally, not even different badges. Why do they think its a GP?? ???

have you gone and had a look at it, 132Kw needs to be tested :P

Are the GPs rechipped with a factory or after market chip, any one know?

Hi, There is such thing as a GP and no it's not a chip that gives it 132kw.

I have a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro and it came with a K03 Sport turbo and different software. engine code for the 132kw (180Hp) engine is AJL.

The AJL engine is a cross between DBW and DBC (drive by wire and drive by cable)
The car also came with 235Nm std.

besides the engine upgrade the interior is different and lights door handles and a few otherthings were changed.

Good thing about the 132Kw engine is that where a chip on the 110Kw motor give it about 142Kw the 132Kw engine get about 154Kw. Or you can do what i did and install a K04 with programing.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I doubt you'll get 154kw from a chipped 132kw A4 TQM. Not proven hp anyway. Whos Ko4-15 map/chip are you using ?

I'm running a GIAC chip.
It's supposed to be run along with exhaust and FMIC which i'm still in the process of getting.
