that's one $$$ car!

if you had that sort of cash would you spend it on that?

I think (dream) about it , and am not sure if I would

kinda like the RS4, M3, 911 choices.  different strengths etc.

I always think about taking a M3 for a spin.  it's meant to be the car to compare all other cars against.

just not a big beemer fan!

hard top for me thanks.

in black i think.

though in all seriousness, it'd be hard to live with i reckon.
you'd get constant attention and tall poppy dirty looks.
you only get a fraction of that in a 911.

V10 hard top for me.
Stunning cars.
That pic above reminded me of Iron Man II

Also, did anyone else see Mega Factories the other day?
It was on the R8, very cool.
It's a four day process just on the paint!
I found the part pertaining to the alloy manufacturing interesting. I didn't realize the aluminium came from Alcoa in the States.

Agreed with everyone.

Im a huge fan of white cars but with the black roof I dont think it really works with this car..... black or some sort of carbon grey would be nice....hard top!

What are the rules with importing cars into NZ, is there GST implication?

For example, why wouldnt somebody buy this one - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2678425.htm for 219K NZD?

Do you have to pay GST on imported vehicles or somthing (remember, im an irishman who moved here recently so correct me if im completely fecktarded!)

Drochubh, drochéan.

On an item of that value I'm sure GST would apply.

But no customs duties AFAIK. In Oz, you get wammed for that too.

it was to hide the stains when the dealer tells testdrivers how much it costs.

I took this for a blast a few weeks back, it was a lot of fun - very low and much rawer than my B7 RS4 @ 470ps. They were asking $267k from memory.

I loved it in white, only thing for me is I'm 6'3 and the top of my head gets chilled on the motorway. When I mentioned this they said they'd have an engineer look into it - sadly the seat couldn't be lowered (like that's the real barrier to ownership!)

I tried a LP550-2 in Auckland preferred that, though there was someing nice about that R8.. got mad props by people on the motorway who were tooting and giving the thumbs up with huge grins. My RS4 never gets that  :'(

Looks like it, maybe it's a premium for those who don't want to wait a few months.
