Power Band of a VR6

Im interested to know if everyone on this forum has the same feeling power band in there VR6s as I do?
It seems to be in my car that it doesnt really start to get into its stride into about 3600 RPM, is this what everone else finds?

I always felt they start to take off between 3500 and 4000 rpm, certainly all the standard ones I've driven are like that and the Z-Engineering supercharger kit I ran for a bit made it even more noticable.  The best thing to change the characteristic is the VSR inlet manifold, works very well, a friend had one on a 2.9 and it filled in the low and mid range nicely.  If you have money to burn the 3.1 bottom end is fantasic, I've also driven one of these and it was truely beautiful!

Yep, it all starts to happen at 3500rpm.  Mine is like that and I've driven a few others, manuals and autos, and they are all the same.  Strange as it sounds, my old MkII GTI 8 valve has more low down torque than the VR6.

Yeah, I find that my other car (Mk1 GTI) has more low down torque as well.

i think it has something to do with trying to get some economy out of those oversized lumps
