Hi guys,

Just bought a '96 GLi in the weekend and looking at doing some cheap cosmetic upgrades  :P.

I saw these wheels on tm, but was unsure of the fit.

It says the wheels have an et of 45 but a mk3 golf is 34-38(?)  :-\

How well would these fit? high chance of rubbing etc?

Thanks guys

Oh man, one of those days lol.

But even if it was a 4/100, how comfortably will wheels with et45 fit on the golf?

Those wheels are ET43, and they are likely off a Mk3 VR6. 43 is factory offset, you could probably fit up to ET48 before you get rubbing on your suspension, but remember the higher the offset, the further in the wheel sits, and the more homo it looks  ;)

there are alot of potions out there for youre golf. look for up to 17" 4x100 with a 35mm offset. ;)

years ago either EVO or Fast Lane tested different wheel size combos on a MK3 GTI and concluded that 16" was the optimum for ride & handling with this chassis, with 17" the ride was harsh and they didn't really handle any better,

but if looks is what you're after, then . . . . . .

Hey thanks for the input guys :D

Another n00by question, which is better to use: 91 or 96? Want to get your thoughts on the matter.

Cheers guys

Technically 96. When I had a GLi I would use 91 around town and never noticed any difference in fuel consumption, it did run slightly better on 96 though.
