I contemplated Ballin's car, but decided A.) I would still be stripping the whole thing apart to repaint - why not do something from the ground up anyway? B.) I had no space to build anything, and C.) While I was contemplating all this parts were already being sold so thought flag...
Plus as you say, if you buy someone elses car it's always gets referred to as the other persons car, would rather build something myself how I want it

Yea Ash swapping interior's between my car would be easiest for sure, but I would need to find 4 door leather door cars!

I feel a bit bad for the VR as well, but it will find a new home

I plan to DIY as much as I can and enlist the expertise of Mr Kanters for some of the more difficult aspects, Brendon has thrown his hand up as well so cheers for that

John has been great so far answering many questions  ;D

The only way to get what ya want is to build it, take your time mate and you'll be right.
Collect what you can and get to it, will be a cool project to be involved in.

F*ck yea! Over the moon with my score today!
Full set of Mk3 Recaro's for 60 bucks!! Yea that's right I'm not missing a zero!

I have been at pick a part for the past 5 days in a row picking various parts (I keep getting home and realising I need another part), and when you go this often you get pretty friendly and almost first name basis with the staff lol. I got chatting to possibly the owner I think, and tapped into a source that a GTI was on the way, 9am this morning I was at the gate and got me some Recaro's (along with other parts)

Also got an 02a for $125  ;) and a set of coilovers for $60 from it

Pics to come

Was going to grab the ABF too but couldn't be arsed in the end, was running out of time. As long as I got the box and seats I was happy  ;D.

So if anyone is after a cheap track car power plant go get it, like $300 for an engine.
Done about 210,000km I would say going by the last cambelt change sticker

I have a perfect track car box to go with it too (02j from Beetle)

I think it works out at way more than 300 for the engine.
Ask Hennie he pulled a 16v motor at pickapart and was horrifyed at the price they charged after all that hard work.
Better get to PP myself today.

Nice scores Sam, you would have to be over the moon!

What brand are the coilovers?

Any idea why the Mk3 GTI was at PP?

Had a look today, airbags had gone off so an accident. No steering column surround on it or any of the other 2 mk3s >_< Damn always too late.
