Hi all,

just added another car to the family fleet ( 8 in total now )

1999 passat 1.8t..

this one has a hesitation when the fuel gauge reads below 1/4 ( easy fix is to not let it go that low )

i have come across a similar issue before ( on Vauxhalls in the UK ) that was related to the swirl pot in the fuel tank ( where the pump/filter sit ) and if i remember correctly was something to do with the fuel return pipe from the engine bay ) does this ring a bell with anyone or am i barking up the wrong tree.

the symptoms would suggest air flow or other sensor issues, but the fact it only occurs on low fuel steers me away from that line of thought.

also, where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body a rod comes from the throttle spindle vertically downwards towards what looks like a vacuum valve or similar - have been told the car has cruise control but not had a look yet - any ideas?

cheers

Phil
