all the turbo b6 are quattros (including TDI) and the 3.0V6.  the easy way to tell is if it has the little silver quattro badge on the front grill like this:
Most 2.0 TDi B6's are in fact front wheel drive. they generally come from the UK as i dont believe audi NZ ever sold that model here. Oh and they're 6spd manuals. Here's one http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/audi/a4tdi/auction-418249570.htm

ok so by the readups it seems i can use the all road 2.7 and install it into he B6 platform and is a better option aswell..
soo my next question is!!!! will the B5 manual gearbox fit the B6 motors and also wil lit bolt upto the All road 2.7 again? or do i need a B6 manual trans?
and whats the differences wetween the 2 platforms then?
thanx guys

and whos got a shell to sell lol.. must have sunroof and 4wd lol
and wil lthe all road recaros bolt itno the A4?? or can i change the rails or modify tem easly enough? and is $800 a good price or look for cheaper?

not quite sure what you mean, if you're wanting to use the all road's 2.7 why do you care if the transmission mounts to a B6 engine?

a b5 manual trans should mate up to the C5 all road's 2.7 as it's the same as the B5 S4's 2.7
as for whether that's an easier fit than using a b6 manual, i'm not sure. if you get no luck here try searching some of the international forums i linked earlier.

The gearboxes will take a 4,5,6 and 8cyl

The 01A, (standard 5 speed) and 01e (6speed) will take a 4,5,v6(vr6 will require an factory adaptor plate) and 8cyl engine. I would not reccomend using the 01a as it wont last long with anyhting over 300hp.
