Polo advice, looking at buying one

Hey guys,
Looking at a polo for the wife. 2001 model. Any problems I should be aware of? Can any current or former owners comment on fuel use? When are cambelts due? How does the manual gearbox hold up? Or any other advice you can give would be appreciated.

Haha, nope. Did want to stay loyal to the VAG cause though. Went for a 3 series m sport wagon. Very happy wife.
