well, i bought some 16x7.5 Borbets from skilfil at the trading post and this morning they got some michelin pilots - 205/55/16. price, weight, fuel economy, lighter steering, resellability all had a part in the decision. the tyres were used with 6mm on them and with the rims the switch has cost me $715 all up.

i think they look good, better even, but then i will be 60 in a couple of months. only been for a short run but i am pleased with the change. ride is heaps better and the handling is not down much, certainly not in the range i use. steering is a win/lose, lighter but without the feel that comes with wider tyres.i can now enter my driveway without almost stopping. yayyy!

i also don't feel like a 60yr old going through a late-life crisis in a boy racer car. now the 4 motion will be very anonymous. unlike a lot of vaskers i don't want to be noticed.
