So went to do the big service today, went to remove the HT Leads and the 4th one broke away completely on the dizzy end....gutted...went to Repco but didn't have anything that matched. Was hoping the lead from other Mk1 would work but wrong connector. The connection onto the dizzy is a male plug...is this normal on the later DX engines?? Any help would be handy...Repco can supply me with 4 new leads but if I'm going to have to go down that route would rather get upgraded leads. Just puzzled whether a new kit would come with correct connections??

Buy a 4 pot BMW dizzy cap and that will have the normal holes for a normal lead instead of the stupid VW type.
The only issue you have is you need to crush down the coil end of the standard silicon suppressed lead to fit onto the little male coil bit.

Its so much better to do this as its too expensive to buy the good quality VW type leads and its too crap to buy the cheap ones that arc out all over the show.
The end is nigh, but the end of what is the question?
