Sway Bar rubbing on drive shafts
« on: February 01, 2012, 10:35:05 PM »
Adjustables are in..and offcourse they have been wound all the way down. Even with adjustable drop links in it still rubs.

Now ive heard a little rumor that the series one audi tt sway bar runs underneth the drive shafts. This should certainly fix my problem yeah?

Removing the sway bar is not an option. Its a wof issue.

You can get a whiteline sway bar, they arent too expensive (295+gst approx) and run under the drive shafts. That will sort you out.

you can also install an R32 front swaybar. this too fill fix your problem ( same as your Audi TT idea)

If you remove the swaybar completely with bushing etc. I can't see how this would not pass the wof without.

Heino's golf didnt have one and when i test drove it before he bought it. It was still tight in the corners as when its still in. No difference i could note anyway.

I should have one of those, I'd say you'll need the struts to go with it as the swaybar has rods that attach to the strut...

Why buy second hand (10 or so years old) when you can get new aftermarket swaybar from a reputable company (whiteline) for cheaper...

As vert says, a stock r32 sway bar will not fit... without modification or r32 front coilovers anyway.

Just loose the Front Sway bar..

If anything it'll probably improve your handling.
