2001 B5 Audi A4 Le Mans Idling / boost problems
« on: February 02, 2012, 06:38:09 PM »
Hi Guys,

First time poster but been a member for a few years and love my Audi to bits, Recently it has been having some strange idling problems and doesnt seem to boost when this is happening, if i pull over and turn it off for a few mins everything returns to normal and this only happens randomly. I have taken to to my mechanic multiple times and it never seems to do it for him, he has scanned the computer multiple times, cleaned the throttle body and checked all the running values that all come up normal so he is at a loss as am i. He assures me that it cant be a mechanical problem as 90% of the time it is running extremely well, he suggests a sensor is malfunctioning but not setting off a error code to the computer so i have to just keep driving it until it does any ideas of anything else i could try ??

has any of the original vacuum hoses been replaced yet?

There is a small possibility that either the N75 is failing, otherwise a small possibility that your Diverter valve maybe toast not closing properly perhaps? Have you ever replaced this either? It's also refered as a 710N (which is the version it should be replaced with)

Failing that if worse comes to worse,

Pop over to my place sometime, I will have a look for you if you like?

Umm not sure of any of these being replaced as far as i know the engine is standard, the guy i brought it off was quite old and i kept o using the same mechanic as he knew the car, i know the basics of engines but no expert knowledge would always appreciate a second pair of eyes.
