One of my pet hates (maybe this means I spend too long on Trademe) is irrelevant keywords.

Why!! Put "Diesel" as a keyword on a Petrol car? Or "Lupo" as a keyword on a "Golf"?

brian

Very common and strictly speaking, against Trademe rules but they don't seem to do much about it.
The reason for doing it is so the listing shows up in many more searches.
Car dealers (including one who frequents this site) are particularly bad at this as  a search for a given make will be flooded with totally irrelevant listings and is a total pain in the a***.

Yeah, "Pissing me off" is not actually a great sales technique.

"BRAND NEW Breaks!"

Oh cool. are they in the front or the "rare"  ;)

^lol

One forum member a couple of weeks ago posted a TM listing where the word "SPECIAL" was part of the features list of the car.

Man I always get nailed for my Auctions.
When I was trying to sell my MPS, I stated "great alternative to a Subaru WRX  or a Mitsubishi Evo",
they threatened to remove my Classified and said key words aren't permitted.

Really? That's so lame, there are any number of worse offenders. I've seen something before like "Keywords: Cefiro, Skyline, Hoes, Titties, Skids, etc..."

This car is in MINT condition - except for all the bits that are clearly NOT??
Don't get me wrong, I'd driveit. But it isn't MINT.

I love the home made licence plate!

Any car that has a dent, where the description mentions "got a ding in the front left of the bumper, from previous owner..."
::)  Does it make any difference at all if it was "The previous owner"?? A dent, is a dent, is a dent... and it means you can't call it "Mint" any more either.  :P
