Just picked up a stock B5 S4. Looking for some go-fast goodies, any one on here have recommendations from personal experience.

Yes, their kit is ridiculous.  Would be nice to get the GT25R 550hp.  Anyone have one done up here in NZ?

What's your bugget? The sky is the limit. Most of the UK B5 enthusiasts are on audisrs.com these days and so that is a good site to trawl around on for ideas.

you sir, have impeccable taste.  8)
You'll find the B5 much more receptive to modding than your B6.

year/kms/pics/sedan or avant?

as le mans says, your budget is the deciding factor... and what you want to use it for. (daily driver/trackdays/project car)

if i were in your shoes (and i was) i would make sure to upgrade the suspension and brakes. After stage one you will only go faster in a straight line, you will still be limited by nose heavy understeer in corners.

read my sig for the parts i've done in that respect. positive transformation of the handling.

as for power, so many options.
if you plan to go >stage 2 do all your physical mods before chipping/remap so the program can take what you've done into account (rather than having to do it twice, pre and post)
realistically you'll get to about 350hp on the stock Ko3's while maintaining reliability.

inspiration of why to go bigger... vid of 3rd gear pull between 322 and 550hp B5's:

shopping list:
exhaust + down pipes with decat
manifold
710n diverter valves or better
larger turbos (how big depends on how much lag you can handle if used as a daily)
intercoolers (as above)
uprated fuel injectors and pump
probably MAF and intake (cold box - engine bay too cramped and hot for exposed cone, consider repositioning lower)
bigger turbo inlet and Y-pipe
silicone hoses
engine mounts
clutch/flywheel
various nuts, bolts, gaskets, sensors and rings
and obviously, remap.

and a lot of money.

Here's an example of what you can do if you have unlimited funds. It's an RS4 but you get the idea (pic heavy): http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=93350

And if you don't mind cutting a few holes in the body work, 1000+hp

VR6+T is the only way to go. Anything else is just tinkering around the edges.  >:D

Thanks all - for budget will depend on what I finally decide but there are 2 options for me.  Silly horsepower (450+) or basic (350).

For the silly horsepower, I'd be comfortable w/ 450+ but looking to try and stay under $7k (have had a look around and a few contacts in the US may be able to source me cheap products).

Basic is ecu upgrade, exhaust and a few other goodies. (few grand)

I have genuine standard RS4 intercoolers, downpipes and standard RS4 turbos.

Add those and appropriate injectors etc an you can see 450bhp.

Too much power is almost enough.

Can you share with me pricing and dealer?  I'm looking at both things locally (NZ) and importing from the US.

The S4 can be developed to produced great HP I am sure, but the brakes and suspension would also probably need a helping hand. Fundamentally they start at a similar place.
But if you were after 400-450HP, which would be the cheaper option - buy an S4 and do a reasonably extensive upgrade, or buy an RS4 and chip it (only for a few HP too)? 265hp to 400 would be much harder and more expensive than 380 to 400hp...
The RS4 would start to look relatively cheap I would have thought, but the time you replace turbos, injectors, remap, and suspension/brake upgrades... And then there is the looks - the RS4 is pretty good looking (IMHO anyway).
