Yes I meant in my shed at home. Probably not for sale though as last time I tried no one wanted them, unless I was willing to offload for $10.

As for tuning, the only real aspect the RS4 is better is braking, and even then they are not very good IMHO. Yes the wider wheels are better for grip too and they do look better but you could easily get a S4 with 450BHP for around $20-25k, I wouldn't sell my RS4 for less than $40K as that's what standard cars are asking. Only time an RS4 engine is a better starting point is when aiming 550BHP or more.

Hence I am keeping my RS4 bits, will probably go on to an S4 at some point.
Too much power is almost enough.

120km RS4's are worth low $30's (mid to high $20's with more kms), if they are in very good condition. No more i'm afraid. At $40k, people will step into a B7 for only a smidge more.

I have turned down a local offer of $35k for my "high mileage" 144,000km RS4. That is from an owner of a B7. I also had someone offer me $39k but couldn't complete the finance, so can't call it a real offer.

Thread drift here... Barry, please start a project thread for your RS4! I'm really interested in what you are doing with it! What upgrade bits have you decided to go for? I presume you are aware of the JHM RS6-R turbos? Bit of an unknown at the moment but look good on paper, and JHM did a 10.8 quarter pass with their road trim S4 running them.

M

PM Sent. No JHM turbos no.

First place to start is a chip/remap and take your cats out. And 710N dvs. Then spend some cash on your suspension and brakes. All up that should probably cost you about $4-5k. Then the sky is the limit! There are plenty of go fast places to get parts from the states or the UK, try www.awe-tuning.com for some ideas :)

Thanks guys, just picking it up tomorrow from my mechanic from a quick freshen up.  Will post pictures and drop by a performance shop this week.  Will figure out what my options are.

A performance shop? Very few people will know what they are doing with these engines in NZ. Your best resources are more than likely on this forum.

I'm surprised, as that means they have headed up in price over the last 18 months. Quite possible i guess.

If its John at Dubshack you will be good, he does viper mapping and knows what he is on about. If it's another "NZ" tuning outfit then good luck.

I have now heard who it is going to and you will be good there.

I really like the wheels too, just thinking of going down to 18".  Not too sure if I want to sell them.
