a CC saloon included in the lineup!

I like it, clean non-gimmicky styling, good stance for a production car, the "performance model" black dash is much nicer than the silver one

That's something I have thought about 'moderns' for years. You would end up with a brilliant car for very little outlay

I like my mk6 more :D for now at least, but the 220 pounds diet is impressive.

Vw have just turned plain ridiculous model change over / life cycle periods are just too short id be horrified if i was a mk6 owner and vw was already crapting out the mk7

At least with the likes of bmw merc etc have 7 year life span for most model shapes etc

on these shots (they are designed to show it off best afterall) I prefer it over the MK6, more refined looking IMHO

Yeah, I agree that it is better looking than the Mk 6 and I like the c pillar which is a bit reminescent of similar to the Mk 4

I guess the thing with the Mk5/Mk6 is that really they are the Mk5 and Mk5.5.

They thoroughly overhauled the Mk5 into the Mk6 in order to make it cheaper to build and addressed the quality issues in the interior. It was the result of a new CEO making his mark.

Don't like it.. but it is a standard model so I will reserve judgement until the GTI.
I never like the Mk6 either until I saw the GTI

Agree, also a big step up in build quality. Think the new one looks good, nice evolution. GTI and R will look cool.

Is it just me, but the 6 had a few styling cues from the mk3 with square swage line in the rear panels, this 7 has hints of the mk4 in the rear quarter...
