How can you find the transmission model number?

I have the VIN and Engine number, do any of those contain the transmission info?
2000 S4, MTM stage 1, Oettinger RE's, Bilstein Sports, Vogtland springs, H&R Swaybars, DBA 4000 rotors, EBC Yellow stuff pads, 710N DV's, F1 tints, RS4 clutch

It is on the sticker  in the boot.you will have an 01e typ trans

Thanks , but it's not for my car.
I don't have access to the other car to check the boot.
The VIN doesn't have it hidden in there somewhere?

I can think of 2 options.

1) Try asking a dealer (free)
2) Go to https://erwin.audi.com/ register  and prepay for 1 hour (5 Euros). Go to vehicle specific info and put in the VIN. You can then generate a PDF showing full vehicle spec including factory  options and engine/gearbox codes. From memory you need to be on a PC using Internet Explorer.
