If you saw it in Mt Eden, and looking a bit daggy, then it was probably my one: 16v gti.

I'm glad you said that though - I had a good blast round Clevedon way today in a new RS4  and have been feeling kinda underwhelmed getting back into a somewhat more ordinary car.

OMG!!!

Just a shame that a) I wasn't the only one in the car, and b) We had to give it back. Sadly we only had it for a couple of hours.

Such a different ride to the standard 4.2 S4 - the suspension is so well sorted, that engine is incredibly quick revving (8000 RPM redline in a 4.2 litre V8!!!) and tractable, and they must have spent hours and hours getting that exhaust note sorted. Pity Contis won't accept a spleen as payment...  :'(

The intensive brainwashing sessions have already started:  'nice day today...for a ride in an RS4'.  'Cup if tea Dad? ...And would you like one RS4 or two with that'

If only we could arrange for a donor one to be written off...

That was a good effort 1.8t!  Hell, I was only home for five minutes yesterday afternoon.  Sad I know, but I haven't got round to putting the plate on the front yet.  I need some more stainless screws.
