The cars are in NZ.

Seen the NZ spec sheets and this thing should sell like hotcakes.

High specs - alloys, front and rear park sensors, climatronic air, navigation !

Cheaper than Mk6's.

Base model 90kW manual from $32k

GTI from Jul/Aug.

;D

coons

Wow $32k seems pretty decent, what did the Mk6 start at?

Dunno haven't really been taken by the design of the mk7 maybe it would look better in the flesh.

I thought the MK6 started at ~$38k ?

???

GLIDN

to be frank, not enough money even given to me could convince me to buy the MK7,
It's truly a bastard child from a Focus,Mazda 3, Astra, and the ugliest car on the planet the new renault Megan (falling just behind the MK7).

Nope, if you think back VW New Zealand had adverts of sign-writers not completeing the MK6 Billboards because they thought they were given the wrong numbers (too cheap)

31,999rrp (+ ORC)

remembering this was for just the crappy bottom end vehicle..

$38500 on their website for a MK 6, mind you that is DSG whereas if available in manual would obviously be less.
Bottom of the line models are not necessarily crappy as they are frequently not loaded with a lot of the extras most of us never use and do not want

Brainfade on that ad campaign.

Ditto on what Brian said - base models tend to be best value, NZ buyers do like their bling though.

The end is nigh, but the end of what is the question?

Too much power is almost enough.

Is the manual GTi being brought into the country ?

rambo_005

The GTI has only just be released, but I doubt EMD will import manual GTIs - it will be special order only.

vwgolfv5

Anyone know if they are doing deals or list price only?

Why is there $1250 on road costs???

Q- where are NZ Mk7's built ?

Germany ?

Sth Africa ?

Mexico ????

???

Does it really matter where it's built, the production list is so standardised and mechanised it shouldn't matter. I'd be more concerned where it's been designed and tested, and have it built somewhere where labour costs are low to ensure the price is as affordable as possible.

I did take the time out to sit in one at Tristam European, oh it's nice and the sound the doors make when they close screams quality. Almost makes the Audi A3 range redundant.
