Factory Mk2 Golf GTI 16V's In New Zealand

Hmmm - saffy 16v's being excluded because they're  not the right spec - I've got one and have yet to find anything different.
Can anyone say what the differences are?

It's a pretty special example because the only modifications are the ATS cups and the central locking has been replaced with electric actuators) so is close to original. Has just haad new shocks and every single bit of rubber in the suspension replaced - so handles just like they did out of the factory.

The one you say is written off is in the hands of a member who I forget the name of (golfclass I think is his forum name) who has gone to Aussy at the moment but I think he has it mostly repaired and waiting to revin it on his return.
 There is also the white one of the drummer from Cut Off Your Hands who i damn well forgot his name at the mo too! God damn names....

 No its that one pictured you say was written off, it was written off but he bought the wreck and has fitted new front panels etc but hasn't had it re vinned yet.

That's one of my old ones. It was a UK import.
But the NL1928 was NZ new 16v, and yes was converted to 20v and sold to Balin.

There's also the red NZ new 3dr (used to be NR8619, now ERP553) formerly owned by typ53 and Simon II (and others?)

There are a few UK imports I can think of too - a green 3dr (has been posted on this forum), blue 3dr (plate started with SN?) and a red 5dr

Cheers, yeah it was a nightmare to be honest, didn't enjoy the whole entry certification process but glad its all legal now. The car is currently getting a mini front-end/engine rebuild, but should have it back on the road before summer comes. I'm based in Christchurch.
