After Market Intakes and Fuel Trim Issue's

I found this thread, thankfully it's only 39 Pages long at present.

Yes I effectively posted the same thread here and in the MK5 section. However as the two are not joined. It's equally important to have this information.

Anyone that is or maybe thinking about running an aftermarket intake solution on their TSI Engine should have a read of this.
this not only explains what's going on but symptoms often found with after market intakes that have been installed

To some degree this can directly relate to other car makes and models as well. Most importantly what to check for once you have an aftermarket intake installed.

lol don't want to read all of it :D

is it about some after market intake causing a mis-read on the MAF sensor by the ECU and running the engine lean?

In a nutshell yes.
You have nothing to fear however.
