do u live out west...

nice roads to bethels beach and Piha... often do that at night.
now that i have my lights sorted, we need another night drive...

No I live central..

But love the roads & places out in the wild west

The Bethels Raod is fantastic... open bends, real tight cambered bends, brows.. its got it all

Scenic Dr at night rocks  8)

I love that road on a winter night, with fog, or low cloud...

Thats good, bet you don't don't get the same for the 2nd half of the tank though  :-\

I am on my third tank of the new Shell 95 formula, 1st tank with roof racks on was 80km better than before with town driving, 2nd tank was about 80km worse and that was taking the racks off, this one is better at halfway by about 50km so it will be interesting to see where it ends up

I've noticed that on Caltex premium it had less torque and was pinking occasionally. 98 is much smoother and more powerful. I haven't tried the 'new' Shell 95 though.

I have noticed similar.. the car feels a bit smoother, but less torque, & less punch..  Starting it cold this morning, it was coughing & spluttering for about 15 secs..  Has not done that before.. Cordoba did this a few times also.. but could be from all the rain.

Found the Cordoba took a few long runs, & now is fine pinking wise, but it does have less power.. its halfway way through its first full tank

hmmm interesting this.

My last two full tanks of BP 98 (usually put in Mobil98) have also given me about 100kms less than the Mobil98 I usually use. Same driving style and places also.

Might have to change back to Mobil98 and see how it goes.

Just an update on this. After using BP Ultimate and finding I was getting relatively crap mileage (approx 100kms less compared to the equivalent Mobil98) have switched back to Mobil98

Gone back to Mobil98 the last two full tanks again and my fuel consumption is back to where it was. With BP Ultimate I was only managing around 420km to a tank but with Mobil Synergy8000 managing to achieve closer to 500-550kms to a tank. Pretty much the same driving style/conditions too.

Has anyone else noticed anything interesting with their testing of petrol?

I'm about a hundy to fill up my A4TQ and only get 450ish out of it... fairly lead footed though. Driving like a grandma (i.e. GF in the front seat) long distance I get about 550 though.

Still it's a heck of a lot of fun so I don't complain. Turning up to see a client in a nice wee euro wins points to. So many CEO's etc are car enthusiasts!

Well on the way back from auckland i managed to pull 380km off half a tank, filled up in turangi and still had half a tank pulling into home last night. probably something to do with nana driving, trying not to blow oil out of my broken dipstick tube GRRRR .

Oh well off to the stealership tommorrow to get a new one, anyone else broken one? Its just the little yellow plastic collar about 100mm long that the dipstick slots onto, it shattered as i was putting the dipstick back .

Yeah, I had to replace one on the Corrado: Nice and cheap - Kinda lulls you into a false sense of affordability...

yep. on my A4, had to be careful not to get little bits of broken plastic down the tube.

think it was like $15 or something.
