A friend has a 1998 A3 1.8 and has a couple of questions;

How often should the Cam Belt be changed?

How much is the cost, and can you recommend someone in the Auckland area to do the work?

Correct with all replys,but be aware that some cars with low km's may have a bad belt within this time due to age more than anything else,have seen it before and it gets messy.....= $$$$$$.

Good on ya ,go for it ,if you muck around your engine maybe the next thing to go wrong unless you have history of the last belt change,its a piece of mind thing really,cheers.
