MTM 1.8TQ on trademe

What does everyone think of this?

He's been trying to sell it for a while, was asking $35k for it last year.  I'm thinking of getting something along the lines of it when I sell the golf.  What do you guys think?

For about 35k you can find a good condition A4 tq LeMans.
Way better car for money.

true. and it'll be a 2000/01 too.  no body kit though, unless its beed added.

my Lemans rocks. More fun in the twisties than my RS4 with suspension upgrade.

I agree, a LM would be much, much nicer, IMO the kit/lip on that is ugly.

Doesn't it have the same MTM 187hp upgrade thru the ECU as the LM? I reckon it looks really good with that bodykit and the BBS wheels.  Its also full leather which for me is a selling point.  I've been driving my dads rs6 around a bit and I dont think i could get another FWD car or one nearly as slow as the 1.6 golf.

I talked to Hans from giltraps - anyone know him? - and he reckons i should go for a 2.8 a4 when i sell the golf which should be sometime in the next 2-3 months.

Lemans has Quattro GmbH suspension (step above the sports suspension) + the newer facelift features including allu suspension arms + better S4 seats (not recaro) + Alu interior panels + I cant remember. I have full leather in the RS4, and would prefer the 1/2 leather in the Lemans as its far less slippery.

Oh cool, thanks for that.  Just had a look at the 'Our Cars' thread, you have a coupla pretty nice cars.  Did your LeMans come with that kit? I thought they just came with the standard A4 kit.

I added the kit. Its the factory Audi OEM kit.

That looks good hawk but I'm only looking at the moment, I don't think I'll be buying till around the end of April now :( it sucks but that's the way it goes.  The wheels look good, i love BBS' on A4's.  Good luck with the sale
