Others I know have had Toyo T1R's sidewalls rip/burst on curbs, they do seem to have a wider sidewall

Aren't the curbs for directing water down the storm water drains rather than cars back onto the road?

I've tried the RE040's, S02s, and now run GDS3s, and they are better than the rest. The S02s were really bad in the wet, scared the hell out of me on the freeway north of Sydney as I kept on aquaplaning at 100km/h (yes I slowed down after that :).

The GDS3's have never aquaplaned as yet. The wear is fine.. a set every year, which is pretty much the same no matter what tyre I use.

Cheers, Ed.

Agreed..  these were folks at work clipping a curbstone on the drivway into the undergound car park at work..  some ripped the sidewall on their Toyo's, I'd thought staying away from curbs was all part of the plan..
