Horrendous !

Maybe the guy should go to Campbell Live.

They helped out the Waikato couple with the termite house to the tune of $100k+.

I don't get that either, instead of money they should have asked people to help sue the company
who did the building report, parties involved need to be taken to court..................just my take on it.

While ideal, the legal approach often ends badly and with lots of expenses. It's not as flawless a system as we'd like to believe.

That's Frans from the Classic Trial Series.  He has an immaculate alfa.  Nice guy, a real shame.

Frans is more a Targa competitor these days in an M3. He's a nice guy, I still see him from time to time and recently he gifted me a main muffler and pipe (centre section) Scorpion exhaust for my quattro 8)

I looked @ a car with similar problems it was a red 79 3 litre SC,was on TM via Auck car dealer for the original owner who had moved to NZ and decided to bring the car over after his arrival.
It had the right paperwork and had from all accounts been stored in the UK for a while previously being used as I daily by its company director owner,so I quess it must have had passed MOT's before that.
The dealer was the importer (and friend of the owner) had it checked for compliance which only took minutes, the engineer stated that there was "extensive under body rust",even the disk rotor backing plates were almost non-existant.
I was prepared to reshell this car as ST Classic had the correct targa shell on rego hold with light rear fire damage for reasonable money,in the end it didnt stack up as the dealer said the car drove but couldn't really say more,so with the body to sort and possible clutch/transmission issues I pulled out.
The dealer also pulled out of the sale and Europac bought it for 5K for parts from what he told me.
Vert brings up the best point here ,why bother when the value of these cars in NZ is so reasonable.
Hope the owner sorts this he must feel SO ripped off.

Hi Guys, thank you for your kind comments. I specifically wanted a Carrera 3.2 for various reasons and NO, they are not readily available here in NZ. Not unmolested anyway. I know now, that mine is a little rusty, but that's being very well cared for by Profile Autobody in Henderson. But i mainly wanted a standard and original car without modified wheels, guards, engine, etc. On trademe, Porsche Car Club web, etc there was one grey Carrera 3.2 for sale in the last half year. And ... it sold within an hour! Since there are many for sale in the UK and I had successfully inmported a mint TR4A from there some 12 years ago, I didn't see any trouble. As you will have read on the Pelican forum, i instructed the 'professsionals' at Porsche Centre Nottingham, equivalent of Continental or Giltrap here to do the official Porsche 111 point inspection report. I also instructed them by email to specifically check for rust in the A and B pillars, sills, etc. 'Signs of corrosion' they said and nothing structural! would have been a good Tui ad! A law firm who have one of our UK suppliers as their clients are looking into it. they are keen to do more work in the 'automotive industry' and seem happy to accept % of the proceeds rather than big fee!
I probably cannot write with any details on the Pelican forum with a pending legal case. Needless to say, i'm hugely disappointed in the Porsche system. I also wrote to Porsche AG, but they seem to pass the proverbial buck and Porsche NZ have not been helpful either to say the least.
cheers, Frans

Porsche more than likely have bigger issues - sorting 991 GT3 engines ;)
