What's out there that's good? I have a 1.8 mk4 and a mk5 gti so would be good if I could have one reader that can service both cars. Also reset capabilities are a must. Thanks in advance. Martyn.

Get a rosstech vagcom. I have about 25k worth of scan tools and is the best for vag stuff. As good as the genuine vw diagnostics. And its cheap.

even cheaper if you get a Chinese fake from eBay, which will work just fine as long as you never let the computer be online while the tool is in use, or apparently they will try to update and the fake will be crippled

I have a couple of them here, the latest being V12.12 and they both work fine

Just had it plugged in as was communicating well.

It also has a USB connection lead to connect to laptop and PC
